My 90′s in Music Part 3: 1994

There’s an argument to say that 1994 was the single best year for British pop since the 70′s Punk explosion. I’m serious about this. Okay the mainstream charts were dominated by Take That and awful, awful Eurodance but something was bubbling below all of that and in 1994 it started to peep through. This was the year Britpop broke big. The year British music stamped its foot, declared that it would not go quietly into to the night, and stormed forward making girls dance with fizzy guitar pop and club nights called things like ‘Smashing’, ‘Loaded’ and ‘Shine’.
